SMS opt-in
Linking a phone number to ClaroCal is optional. The product works fully without one, and we never text a number until its owner has asked us to.
This page shows exactly what that request looks like, so you can read it before you sign up rather than after.
Where consent is collected
Inside your own account, at Settings, then Phone. You type your own mobile number and tick a consent box. Nothing is pre-ticked, and the button stays disabled until you tick it.
Below is a replica of that screen. It is an illustration only, it does not submit anything.
Phone number
Yes, text me. Send my code. disabled until the box is ticked
After you submit, we text a 6 digit verification code. You have to enter that code before anything else is ever sent, so every number we message has both ticked the box and proven it controls the handset.
What we send
- A one time verification code when you link your number.
- Your morning briefing, if you have it switched on.
- Replies to messages you text us, for example to add a task or ask what your day looks like.
Every message is transactional and follows from something you set up or texted us. We do not send marketing or promotional texts. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Sample messages, exactly as they arrive:

How often
Message frequency varies and depends on your settings and how often you text us. Morning briefings arrive at most once per day. You can set your proactivity level to quiet, or unlink your number, at any time.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. ClaroCal does not charge for text messages, but your mobile carrier may.
Stopping
Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts, and START to resubscribe. Reply HELP for support information, or MENU for the list of things you can do by text. You can also unlink your number in ClaroCal settings. Support: support@victoriagarland.ca.
For carrier and registry reviewers
The messaging program is ClaroCal daily planning alerts, operated by Victoria Garland Creative Inc. The live consent form is inside a signed in account at app.clarocal.com, under Settings, then Phone, and messaging is a paid plan feature, so the form itself sits behind a login. The replica above reproduces that screen and its consent wording exactly. Consent is collected only from the account holder, for their own number, and is never bought, sold, rented, or shared. The same disclosures appear in the SMS section of our Privacy Policy and in section 10 of our Terms of Service.
